INFORMATION ABOUT AGRICULTURAL LANDS

The amount of organic matter to be found in an ideal soil is 5%. Due to increasing use of chemical fertilizers and intensive use of chemical drugs, the organicity amount in soil in Turkey decreased rapidly, in some places less than 1%.

According to soil analysis results (top soil), if we look at organic matter assessments;

< % 0.5 Very Poor

%0.5 - %1 Poor

% 1 - % 2 Medium

% 2 - % 5 Rich

% 5 - % 10 Very rich

%10 - % 20 Many Rich

%20 - % 50 Organic-Mineral Soil

> 50% Peat

The most important factors for soil fertility and healthy andsustainable agriculture are;

•* Humus (organic)

• * Phytotoxicity,

• * Nitrogen inactivity,

• * High Salt content

• * Structural incompatibilities.

Unfortunately, unconsciously used synthetic fertilizers or burnt stallions have largely altered the physical and chemical structure of the soil.
